Collections in K4 v6.4
One new tool in K4 6.4x is Collections. I had some time to play with it today and a couple of people in the editorial department will test it out.
The Query Panel has a Collections button. Click on it and a popup menu will appear. If you haven't selected a collection the only option is to create one. Give the collection a name, determine if it is active, and whether you want to make it personal.
Right-click on the collection to add content to it, such as a note, a url or a file. You can put any number of objects into a Collection.
Then drag the collection to another object including a layout, an article or another collection. The collection stays at its original location but an alias is created as the object's content.
Like any other object you can query for collections in the query panel.
Collections are a nice way to store and share data about articles and layouts. I do not know if we will adopt collections or if it is another nice tool that doesn't meet our needs.
